How we built this festive piece from scratch.
BY DESIGN OF YOUR LIFE
1. 3/4 PVC Pipe, Tees, and Elbows 2. Chicken wire 3. Zip ties 4. Shatterproof Ornaments: I used 120mm, 100mm, 80mm, and 60mm bulbs from Old Time Pottery, Hobby Lobby, & At Home Store
You'll need the measurement of two verticals on each side & the horizontal part across the top. If you have free-standing pillars, you can also take a measurement of Its circumference.
If you have pillars, you can attach the frame by wrapping zip ties around them.
If you do not have free-standing pillars, build "feet" to help your frame stand independently.
We used a screw on the back side of our attached pillar to keep the wrap around feet in place.
I made the arch in 3 pieces and finished them one at a time.
Start by spreading out and attaching with zip ties the largest bulbs first.
Then add the medium and small sized ornaments and attach with zip ties.
We attached the vertical pieces to the top of the frame first with zip ties and then to the vertical pieces.
I made the vertical pieces just tall enough to fit under the horizontal piece and hang down to the floor.
Optional: Once you see how things are laying and where the lights are shining, add in additional ornaments in bare spots. Shift them in all directions to see the best way to fit and attach more.
